Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program
The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company
was notified by Congressman Tim Holden that our department received
$36,100 through the 2007 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
This grant will be utilized for the purchase of a SCBA cascade
compressor and a personal protective gear washer. A special
thanks to Representative Holden from the Officers and Members
of the Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company for his support
over the years. This grant will drastically improve firefighting
efforts in this community. Please see the photos section of

2006/2007
OSFC Grant
The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer
Fire Company recently received the Office of the State Fire
Commissioner grant totaling $21,170.49 for the purchase of a
new squad. This vehicle will replace the current 1991 Ford Explorer
Squad 9-70. We have purchased a 2004 Chevy Tahoe and it should
be in service by the middle to end of May. Stay tuned for details.
2008
Fund Drive
The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company is
in the process of mailing the 2008 fund drive letter to all
residents and businesses in and around East Union Township.
This fundraiser represents the largest fundraising event that
our company will partake in this year. Please take time to fill
out the enclosed information and be generous when donating.
If you did not receive a fund drive letter, please contact our
office at (570) 384-4746. Thank you in advance for helping our
cause. Please know that the revenue collected in our fund drive
allows us to better serve you.
2008
Membership Drive
The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer
Fire Company is currently accepting dues for the 2008 Membership
Drive. The cost is $5.00 for active and social members. Dues
can be paid to Financial Secretary Kevin Hruniuk or any fire
company member. Check the newspaper for times and locations
of the membership drive.
Monthly Meetings
The regular monthly meetings of the Sheppton-Oneida
Volunteer Fire Company are held at our firehouse at 900 Center
Street, Sheppton on the first Tuesday of each month at 7p.m.
Membership
Applications
The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company is
always accepting applications for active members. Members are
needed for emergency response, fundraising, and administrative
functions. The Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company accepts
junior member applications beginning at age 14. These applications
for membership must be co-signed by a parent or guardian. Senior
members are accepted at age 18. We provide all equipment and
a positive volunteer environment where every member is valued
for their efforts. Interested persons can stop at the firehouse
for an application or can print an application from our members
page. Please complete the application in it's entirety, sign
it, and return it to any fire company member.
